Ultra-fine wires are placed around the specific pain generating nerves of your head and attached to a tiny battery powered microprocessor computer which is usually implanted in your lower back. It’s important to know that the wires are not put inside your skull or on your brain. They are placed just under your skin and are not visible to you or others. The wire uses 32 tiny electrodes to intercept up to 12 separate nerves that can transmit pain impulses to your brain. After programming the tiny computer with your personal migraine profile, it starts intercepting the headache pain impulses travelling through these nerves and replaces them with vibrational waves of soothing energy. Essentially the neurostimulator system hacks the pain spikes and replaces them with smooth electrical current.

Causes and Symptoms:

Genetic factors and environmental surroundings could play a role in causing migraines.
Migraine headaches often begin in childhood through early adulthood.
The onset of a migraine can be caused by changes in interaction between the brainstem and pain pathways (such as the trigeminal nerve).
Chemical imbalances in the brain lead to drops in serotonin (chemical which helps regulate pain).
Low levels of serotonin are subsequently overpowered by neuropeptides sent to the outer part of the brain resulting in a headache.
